Hi everyone! I am the founder of Priscilla Ma Jewelry and I’m Priscilla. So how did I start?
In my early twenties, I began selling preowned clothing on eBay, eventually transitioning to handmade hair accessories. I enjoyed making extra bit of money on the side and always wanted to pursue an entrepreneurial path.
After working as a merchandiser for a jewelry brand, I used my employee discount to purchase pieces I loved, but they tarnished quickly and turned fingers and ears green. I thought to myself, is there really no way to make jewelry that doesn’t tarnish unless it is solid gold? Then I found out about a metal called “gold fill.” Gold filled metal has an outer layer of 12K and 14K solid gold and the base layer is copper/brass. Gold fill is 5% solid weight in gold. Sounds like a small percentage right? BUT it makes a load of difference. With care, gold fill jewelry can last for years. And that's how we got here! We hand make almost everything right here in California.
Thanks to the flexibility of my job, I spend any free time I have working with the animal shelters. Keep scrolling below to read about my dog fostering journey! ⬇️
Your support allows our small team to do what we love. Without our lovely customers, we would not be here. ❤️
Our sweet foster girl, nine month old Freyja, crossed the rainbow bridge in December 2024 due to an inflammatory disease. With limited resources at the shelter, she unfortunately wasn’t able to receive the care and diagnosis she needed in time. This is why it is SO important to foster, volunteer and donate to your local animal shelters.
Her life was sadly cut short, and she was only with us for three weeks, but we hope she felt how much we loved her. She bonded instantly with our dog Augie and had so much fun with us. We wish we could have saved her.
We think about you often, sweet Freyja. You are deeply missed. 🕊️
We started fostering dogs from Oakland Animal Services in 2023. I am personally very passionate about animal welfare and hopefully can do much more in this area to serve the voiceless. To date, we have fostered 16 dogs! Almost all of them found loving homes except for my beloved Freyja. I am currently fostering this one year old blonde cutie pie Carmine. I have been fostering him since July 2025. He is a 100% good boy/herding dog mix but he is shy with people so he needs an experienced home ideally with another playful resident dog.
Available for adoption near Oakland, California.
